Peter Morgan
Peter Morgan brings a wide range of business, legal, and life experience to his representation of North Fulton companies, businesses throughout Georgia and the United States, and overseas clients, including companies in Europe, India, and Australia.
Born in the United Kingdom, and educated in England, Scotland, and California before moving to Georgia in 1995, Peter’s practice focuses on business transactions, business contracts, tax, and intellectual property.
As a transactional attorney, Peter rolls up his sleeves and learns the business of his clients, drafting the contracts and agreements that make their businesses run. He supports entrepreneurs and growing business with cost-effective legal services, from fast LLC and corporate formations to tax-efficient, multi-entity structures. Equally at home in or out of court, Peter mediates, arbitrates, and litigates contract disputes throughout Georgia, in state courts as well as before the American Arbitration Association. He handles trademark matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board in Virginia, and he is admitted to the Bar of the United States Tax Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Peter helps individuals and business owners safely document the purchase, sale, or lease of businesses and real property. He advises companies and franchise systems on trademark and copyright protection and trade secrets, and he serves as general counsel for both small and mid-sized firms in the North Metro area, assisting numerous non-profit corporations as well as for-profit companies with operational issues as well as board ethics and governance.
Before turning to the law, Peter was a tenured university professor and published author. He taught business writing and entrepreneurship, among other classes, from California to Georgia and internationally in Mexico and Japan. He has been named among Georgia’s Super Lawyers by Atlanta Magazine and speaks frequently to groups of entrepreneurs as well as to other lawyers when he teaches continuing legal education (CLE) classes. Peter has won awards for legal ethics and volunteered his time to assist low-income taxpayers in resolving disputes with the IRS. He lives in Marietta with his wife, a university professor, and their son, a filmmaker.
